| Take
your bike club on a great trip with Western Spirit!
We can take groups of any size, and we have a great
variety of trips to choose from.
Right
now, we have some rides that are less than a day's
trip from any point in Wisconsin. Try
our Maah Daah Hey trip - one hundred miles of
new singletrack has recently been completed by the
US Forest Service in Medora, North Dakota.
It's called the Maah Daah Hey Trail and it connects
the northern and southern units of Theodore Roosevelt
National Park. Part of the Missouri River Plateau,
the Badlands of North Dakota were formed by thousands
of small streams working their way through hundreds
of feet of sediment over millions of years. The trail
takes us across the grasslands on top of the mesas
and then dips and dives in and out of the canyons.
Another
option in neighboring South Dakota would be our Black
Hills Cycling Adventure. The Black Hills of South
Dakota have gained notoriety for a Harley Davidson
rally which is held in nearby Sturgis, South Dakota.
Over
300,000 Harley riders come to experience the rip rolling
twisty turny terrain of the Black Hills. This very
same terrain is also great for mountain biking!
Black
Hills National Forest includes lots of fun singletrack
trails and dirt roads through spruce trees and grassy
meadows. Goldenrod and Echineacea grow wild everywhere,
along with all kinds of sunflowers. The itinerary
includes great sections of the Centennial Trail and
the Deerfield Trail just outside of Silver City, South
Dakota. Every camp is on a beautiful lake, making
this singletrack and camping heaven. And to top it
off, on day three we take a party barge out on the
lake for swimming.
The
Black Hills tour is a great trip at low altitude with
fun singletrack and lots of swimming opportunities.
